The inconvenience, expense and embarrassment of returned checks, automatic debits and declined debit cards are things of the past with overdraft protection from Columbus Metro. We offer three options: overdraft from savings, a personal credit line and Courtesy Pay.
Overdraft from savings
You’ll automatically receive overdraft from savings, a free service that automatically transfers
funds from your primary share to your checking account to cover checks and other transactions. Of
course, sufficient funds must be available in your primary share
and transaction limitations apply.
You can also apply for Metro Line, our personal credit line. Metro Line puts an additional $500 to $10,000 at your disposal and offers further protection against costly fees for returned items. For more information, click here or call 614.239.0210 or 800.986.3876.
Courtesy Pay allows us to cover certain transactions that would normally be returned for insufficient funds. If your checking account is in good standing, we may, at our discretion, pay overdrawn checks and ACH withdrawals up to $300 (up to $100 for Metro Merit Accounts), including fees. You can extend Courtesy Pay coverage to your debit card transactions by completing our opt-in form. It will be your responsibility to bring your account balance positive as quickly as possible, so that you can continue to use this valuable service.
